Call for inspiration: Researcher assessment

20/11/2020 door admin

Belgium’s Young Academy has launched a call for inspiration: Researcher assessment.

We are looking for new ideas and approaches in the assessment of researchers. We welcome submissions of text, visuals, or a combination of both, in a two page PDF to be submitted by January 15, 2021.

In the spring of 2020 we launched our first call for inspiration on “anticipating life after the COVID-19 pandemic”. The winners have been announced.

We hope to receive your input again with this second call for inspiration  This time we are looking for new ideas and approaches in the assessment of researchers. In current practice, researchers are being evaluated very often: not just for selection and promotion, but also for project proposals and after fixed terms.
Imagine that you may change something about these practices: how would you proceed and why?

We welcome submissions of text, visuals, or a combination of both, in a two page PDF to be submitted by January 15, 2021.

How can we assess researchers? Are you involved in a pilot project on a different way to assess researchers? Can you provide new insights in what it means to “beter” assess? How can this be achieved? What new angles can you bring to us? If you want to inspire us, take part in our prize contest with this call for inspiration.

We link up with current events, but look for a perspective that extends beyond the current situation.
